AHEC, in partnership with Metro Community College and Arbor Education & Training, have developed the Nurses Up! program.  This innovative program is designed to help individuals move from governmment financial assistance to gainful employment by providing Certified Nursing and Medication Aid training.  Upon completion of this 8 week course, a graduate will receive a C.N.A. certification, a Medication Aid certification and 15.5 college credit hours.

There are several unique features of the Nurses Up! program:

     •  Students participate in a health care               employability course

Students complete a 21 hour on-site                internship at a long-term or health care              facility

In addition to the Nurses Up! program, Omaha AHEC can provide individuals the training they need in the event of an emergency.  Omaha AHEC can also provide on-site or off-site training for organizations that require their employees to be professionally trained in CPR and/or First Aid.

Visit the Omaha AHEC website for information on the variety of training programs that AHEC offers in the Omaha Metro area.
